  • People always look for simple fitness tips - what to train, what rep scheme, what "superfood". Here's my best tip and one of the first things I have any nutrition client do: drink an 8 oz glass of water at two very specific times - one first thing in the morning, before the coffee and the food. Drink the second glass before bed. Drink it within an hour of bedtime and make it the last thing you drink. Today was that day, so instead of scrapping it completely, I threw on the vest and got some blood moving without making my stomach worse.   • It's the holiday season and the idea that you can't enjoy a treat is stupid. I'm like most people and have certain foods that once I start eating, I want to eat all of it, so I do a few things to make sure I don't relapse into a slobbering sugar-coma. - I wait until I'm settled and relaxed and able to pay attention to what I'm eating. If I'm going to eat something I love, I should be paying attention to it and enjoying it. - I chew like a normal person, not a starving lunatic. - I swallow and sip. Every time I finish a bite, I take a drink before I get the next bite. - I make it abundantly clear that I will not take home leftovers and leftovers will not stay in my house when I host. It's the holidays and life is tough enough with enough stress.
