  • SWEET / DESSERT CHIROTI / CHIROTE / PHENORI So today i have for you all a mouth watering delicacy that is an integral part every Kannadiga wedding meal .That’s the crispy, flaky,addictive ” Chiroti / Phenori ” . Its popular in Maharashtra too by the name “Chirote”. People who don’t have a sweet tooth too would surely get lost relishing these spirals of delight . Chiroti is basically a fried flaky pastry with delicate circular layers that actually has no sweetness in itself. It is served with powdered sugar and/or flavored badam milk or dipped in thick cardamom flavored sugar syrup. The badam milk is added only when you are serving the pheni. For a beginner making chiroti may sound very tough, but once you lay your hands on it, you will realize it is actually not tough but a little time consuming. Yes ,its high on calorie but festivals,special occasions are the time to indulge.
