  • I remember when i would avoid training chest bc I was worried about my boobs turning into pecs 🤦‍️ and to think this is only of a million fitness myths people still believe til this day. My suggestion? If you aren’t sure how something works, do your research.   • Continued to mix things up today to give my body a bit of a break from tossing a bunch of weight around. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Continued my trial and error with bands today. 1️⃣The first movement was a great one. Banded standing presses off the rack pins. This put a few things into play. First lifting off the pins means you have to apply power from a dead stop, no rebound effect from the eccentric phase. Adding the bands added a good amount of instability for me, so extra work was applied staying in good position. And finally the band tension at the top was pretty nuts, so it forced me to accelerate hard from the start to push through to lockout. 2️⃣Followed up with banded bench press. I haven't flat benched with a barbell for nearly a year, I ripped my left pec off the bone about 3 years ago, and ever since I've had issues with tweaks and pulls in either pec since, which definitely eat at me mentally after tearing it completely. So this movement was purely a "see how it feels" thing. It felt great, much to my surprise. Kept my hands about shoulder width, I'll creep out wider as I get more comfortable. 3️⃣After my first two major movements, I moved into more volume work, and it worked out well. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I've been lifting since I was about 15, and ever since I was on my own after high school sports, my favorite thing about training has been the experimentation of it. Taking things others are doing and adapting them, taking notice of what works, and using what I've learned to vary my approach to continue to stimulate growth and progress. I love being my own lab rat, it really never gets old. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Banded Standing Press from stops- 155x4x5, 175x1x5 (had some left in the tank here, but a good first effort) Banded Shoulder Width BB Bench- 185x3x6, 225x2x6 Decline DB Bench- 3x10, 1xAMRAP Front/Side DB Raises (10ea)- 4sets DB Flys- 3x12 Cable Cross- 3x15
