Maybe you just started at the gym and you were the one asking the question? • We all start somewhere and I am the last person who will turn down a question from someone who may be slightly naive and pass the opportunity to drop some quality knowledge! • You always hear people talking about being anabolic, but most people don't understand what that means. To be in an anabolic state, your body is building muscle and burning fat to maintain homeostasis. When you slip out of an anabolic state you drop into a catabolic state. What that means is that your body is burning muscle and storing fat to maintain homeostasis. This is obviously bad. • The only true way to avoid catabolism is to constantly be taking in a good, solid, lean protein throughout the day. This can be difficult at times, I'm a truck driver I understand, and when you don't have a chance to eat, you run the risk of dropping out of your anabolic state.
