  • Uterus seen all clumsy after a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy! So all these fancy medical words basically mean the surgical removal of the uterus and cervix along with the Fallopian tubes and ovaries! This is a surgery commonly done for endometrial cancer - a cancerous tumor within the uterus. It can be carried in cases of fibroid tumor, ovarian cancer, uterine prolapse, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and chronic uterine infection. Endometrial cancer is commonly diagnosed during the early stages, while cancer is still contained in the uterus and can be surgically removed. The preferred way is via the abdominal approach where the incision is made horizontally on the lower abdomen. This provides a large opening for the surgeon to easily identify the organs and the extent of the cancer. Nowadays, laparoscopic hysterectomies are gaining popularity, the surgeon inserts the tools via several tiny holes made in the abdomen. This allows an easier and much faster recovery.   • This smoothie turned out really good today, and was a big hit with my toddler. Although she’s a pretty good eater, she could always use some more green in her diet—who couldn’t?—. So I like to sneak some of those in with smoothies, which she’s always game for. Here’s the recipe for 1.5 portions (1 for me, 1/2 for her): 1/2 frozen banana. 1/3 frozen mango. 1/2 pear. 1/4 avocado. Handful of kale ( I used 1 big leaf). 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice) (Optional: 1/2 scoop of unflavored protein powder.   • Day 35 is our first Refeed Day on 80 Day Obsession. (We'll get one every two weeks, the day before Leg Day.) On Refeed days we get more carbs & carbs that are higher on the glycemic index. These are important to rebuild & fuel muscle growth. It's not a cheat day! We have a special list of approved carbs & even dessert recipes we can make. I chose to keep it simple my first time with grits, chocolate graham crackers, bagel thins & I was going to enjoy cookies after dinner but opted for grits again! What would you have done? . Today's Total Body Core workout was tough & amazing! Producing a crazy amount of sweat! I used 8, 10, 12 & 15lb weights plus the sliders. . This is my new favorite program!
